The View co-host Sherri Shepherd has been working hard to lose weight and she finally debuted her bathing-suit ready body on the show Thursday.
Sherri came out wearing nothing but a pair of Yves Saint Laurent high heels and a Miracle Suit Bathing Suit from a line of slimming swimwear.
She lost 5 inches from her waist and 10 inches overall.
I’m all for people embracing a healthy lifestyle, so “you go Sherri!”
Sherri stuck to a strict regimen of diet and exercise, but the slimming bathing suit certainly helps. Slimming bathing suits like the Miracle Suit can help you look like you shed up to 10 lbs and the one-piece bathing suits have a modest, retro vibe similar to the covet-worthy Norma Kamali bathing suit that shows up in every fashionista’s travel bag.
Katharine McPhee is known for her lush brown locks, but she’s taken the plunge with a choppy, blonde ‘do. She revealed a short, blonde hair cut in a cover shoot for her new album. The American Idol runner-up is set to release her sophmore album, Unbroken, on October 6.
In an interview with People Magazine, McPhee explained how her new blonde hair has changed her style: “The look has affected the way I dress, it’s inspired me to be more adventurous with what I decide to wear. It’s silly that something so simple as changing your hair could have such a big effect. I’m just having fun with it. This is a great time for me to do something different. I’m young — I always try to have a good time.”
Everyone is focusing on Katharine McPhee’s blonde hair, but I’m in LOVE with her winged-out eyeliner and dark nail polish.
What do you guys think? Love the blonde or miss the brown?
Naomi Sims died from breast cancer at the age of 61 on Saturday, August 1, 2009. The Mississippi-born model was dubbed the “first black supermodel” and paved the way for other black models like Pat Cleveland and Naomi Campbell.
In 1968, Sims became the first black model to appear on the cover of Ladies Home Journal and also appeared on the covers on Life Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and Essence. She modeled for designers like Halston and Bill Blass and appeared in a national AT&T television commercial.
Sims was beloved by designers and as Halston told The New York Times in 1974: “Naomi was the first. She was the great ambassador for all black people. She broke down all the social barriers.”
After retiring from the runway, Sims started a successful wig-making business specializing in wigs for black women. She also began a cosmetics line and wrote several books and a teen advice column for Right On! magazine.
