Rachel Roy is coming on strong this season with a lower priced diffusion line — Rachel by Rachel Roy (available at Macys) — and the Spring collection of her original line showing at NY Fashion Week in a low-key presentation.

This collection was a throwback to old Hollywood glamour, taking its influences from 1940’s screen sirens like Katherine Hepburn and Rita Hayworth. Beautifully tailored pants, breezy blouses, and elegantly draped dresses gave off a slouchy sophistication while brilliant punches of color livened the whole thing up.

Model x Muse: Amber Rose for Complex Magazine

Amber Rose for Complex Magazine

Complex: Did you always have an eclectic style growing up?

Amber Rose: Yea, I always looked up to Slash from Guns N’ Roses. I had every single poster of Slash in my room. It was crazy because I grew up in an all-black neighborhood and everybody I went to school with was black. I was the only biracial looking girl in my school, and Slash was biracial too, he was just a fucking rock star. I always wanted to play the guitar. I’ve tried, but other things came up.

Complex: What’s the status of your career?

Amber Rose: Definitely more modeling, I want to change the face of modeling. I want young girls growing up to know that they can actually eat something, and be beautiful and be a model, that they can actually have a real women’s body and do modeling. I want to get into acting. I want to pursue all avenues that I can.

Judith Leiber purses aren’t part of the recessionista diet, but I love looking at a good splurge. This elephant minaudiere is more art than carryall and features hand beading and onyx accents.

Measures 5.5″ wide, 4″ high and 2.5″ deep

Cost: $5,995 @ Judith Leiber

Kim Kardashian debuted her post-breakup hair at the Teen Choice Awards last night.

Every time I break up with someone, I have to get my “f*ck ‘em girl” hair-do. Kim Kardashian stepped out sans Reggie Bush, but with her sisters by her side. Her newly blonde highlights and golden skin are perfect for summer and the tawny look was summer-ready against a simple, white minidress.

I love it, but I think she looks a little Beyonce-ish. Swagger jack!
