BCBG Max Azaria gave us none of the structured, tailored, and menswear-inspired looks that are currently sweeping women’s fashion. For Summer 2008, they’re bringing “pretty” back with lovely, layered party dresses. Models floated down the runway in organza and tulle in muted colors – slate grey, bronze, with the occasional occasional surprise burst of poppy or mustard. Leather wrap belts pulled the looks together and kept these flirty dresses from looking too precious. All dresses, all delicate, and I want to rock each and every one.

FINALLY….a designer who knows that women want to look feminine, not mannish…and not ala the homeless in a pathetic style called “homeless couture” that has gone on far too long. Those that want to help the homeless should feed them, house them, and clothe them….not mock them.
Women in Nashville want to look beautiful, and I suspect women around the world want to as well. Thank you for models that look healthy, not drugged or starved. Thank you for makeup on those models that helps us visualize ourselves in your styles. Thank you for flowy gowns. It is long overdue that the elegance of yesteryear returned. Hats off to you BCBG for bucking the trend!
I absolutely agree Rosanne. Menswear is great but I love a very feminine silhouette.
where can I find the dress in the top photo?? I am searching for a dress for my father’s wedding, but can’t find a single thing that I like. That dress is gorgeous.
Amelia– try looking through http://www.gatheringguide.com/ec/bridal_shops_dresses.html. That’s usually a good bet. There should be some bridal shops that have dresses similar to that dress, usually as bridesmaid dresses, for a discount. Good luck searching!
