Gucci Spring 2010 ad campaign featuring Natasha Poly

You know, the first time I saw the Gucci Spring 2010 ad campaign, I was pretty underwhelmed.

Whatev. Another blue and beachy ad campaign from Gucci.

But you know what? Good for them.

Where else are you going to wear an exquisitely tailored snow-white suit?

The photos by Mert & Marcus were shot in Palm Beach with models Natasha Poly and Ryan Kennedy languishing by the sea. Natasha shows off some of the body-con looks from the spring collection and effortlessly dangles the most luxurious Gucci purses from her fingertips.

Gucci crocodile bag. Want.

Rihanna GQ Magazine January 2010
Rihanna in GQ Magazine January 2010

Okay, okay. I know Rihanna’s new photo shoot for GQ magazine has precious little to do with fashion. But she is one of the most stylish women in the entertainment biz and I’m always curious to see what she’s wearing (or not wearing).

She sat down for an in-depth interview with GQ magazine and answered candid questions about That Night and why she’s choosing to reveal the details of the incident now.

From GQ Magazine:

On revealing the details of her incident with Chris Brown:

Very liberating. It’s relieving. Because it was built up for so long, and all these thoughts and emotions have been running through my mind for the past eight months. And now it’s like I finally get to let go and move on.

On her sexy GQ photo shoot:

[giggles] It’s very sexy, yeah. At one point [chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group] L.A. Reid came into the shoot, and he was like, “Rihanna, put some fucking clothes on!”

On the misperceptions of the public:

They just don’t understand me. I just think people straight up don’t know who I am; they just know what I look like, they know the idea of me. But—they’ll learn more this time, because now I let my guard down, and I’m more comfortable just being myself. That’s exactly what I want to be. And even on the album, you definitely get a gist of my personality.

Zoe Saldana in Roland Mouret at the Avatar Movie Premiere

Zoe Saldana in Roland Mouret at the Avatar Movie Premiere

Zoe Saldana in Roland Mouret @ the Avatar movie premiere in London

I once had a cat who fell in love with a silver Christmas ornament. She would sit in front of the tree and stare at her reflection in this glittering holiday ball. Then she would reach out her little paw, swat at it and go racing around the room when the shimmering ball moved. It was the best thing next to catnip.

That’s how I feel about Zoe Saldana in this Roland Mouret dress.

The Avatar star and Star Trek alum looked positively futuristic in a body-skimming gown with origami-esque shoulder embellishments. She topped off her sparkling, silver dress with more sparkling jewelry, pairing a double-strand necklace with a globe ring.
