New year, new hair!

Hair guru Ken Paves worked his magic on loyal client Jessica Simpson and gave her a new hair style that is very blonde and very curly.

Jessica Simpson came out of the salon carrying the Louis Vuitton Monogram Leopard Stephen “Boston” handbag that we’ve seen her with before. This bag is from several seasons ago, but I still love it (leopard print!).

Kim Kardashian is selling it like the rent is due — reality show, exercise videos, teeth whitening, and now perfume.

Kim Kardashian revealed a toned and trim body in the retro-themed ad campaign for her new perfume. The fragrance is said to have notes of jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, tonka bean, and sandalwood.

If you want to wake up and splash on a little eau de Kardashian, you’ll still have to wait a little while. The perfume will be available exclusively at Sephora in February.

All jokes aside, I really love sandalwood and gardenia based scents, so I’d be willing to give this a try. Will you be buying Kim Kardashian perfume?

Japanese actress/singer Tomoe Shinohara chose an “interesting” hairdo for the Chanel Mobile Art opening in Tokyo.

I have been to some crazy hair shows (Detroit stand up!), but walking around with a weaved lion sitting on your head is not what’s hot.

Strawberry Exfoliating Scrub

Strawberries contain alpha-hydroxy acid, a coveted beauty ingredient and a natural exfoliant that will leave your skin baby soft.

Ingredients

6 ripe strawberries
1 tablespoon of kosher salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil

Directions

Crush the strawberries with a fork until they form a paste. Drizzle in olive oil, add kosher salt and continue to mash with a fork until all ingredients combine. Using a circular motion, rub the mixture into the face, hands, elbows or any other area that needs exfoliating. Rinse and pat dry.

Other fruits with natural alpha-hydroxy acids include grapefruit, peaches, nectarines, plums. Try a similar scrub with some of these ingredients.

Yogurt and Honey Rejuvenating Masque

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of yogurt
2 tablespoons of honey

Directions:

The lactic acid in yogurt rejuvenates the complexion while honey acts as a moisturizer. Heat the honey in the microwave for 20 seconds to loosen it and mix into the yogurt. Smooth onto the skin and rinse off in 15 minutes for smoother, brighter skin.

Herbal Vinegar Hair Rinse

Ingredients:

1-2 tbs apple cider or white vinegar

2 sprigs rosemary

2 sprigs lavender

2 cups water

Directions:

Add herbs and water to clear glass jar with tight fitting lid, steep outside in the sun for 2-4 hours or more, after steeping, remove herbs. Mix vinegar and herbal water together, shampoo hair, apply herbal vinegar solution, massage in gently, leave on for a bit. This will help to restore natural pH, rinse out build up/residue, and is a natural solution to control oily hair. You may notice a slight vinegar odor, which dissipates as your hair dries and shines. Erykah Badu to be the face of Tom Ford’s new fragrance

In a melding of funk meets fashion, Vogue UK reports that Tom Ford has tapped singer Erykah Badu to be the face of his new and as yet unnamed fragrance for women. That’s kind of an offbeat mashup, no?

I think Erykah Badu has a beautiful face, but she’s always seemed more earth mama than high fashion to me. Tom Ford is know for his risqué fragrance ads, so I can’t wait to see what he’s going to do with the ever-fab Ms. Badu.

Ethiopian model Gelila talks about how she cares for her thick, naturally curly hair (from the Ford Models Youtube channel). She’s an absolutely gorgeous African model and she has beautiful natural hair. Her accent is yummy too! I love it when models get to talk.
